COMPOSITION

10g/L Pyrethrins, 18g/L Piperonyl butoxide, 30g/L N-Octyl

Description

A low odour, water based formulation suitable for use in a hydrobath, rinse, dip or spray. Contains no alcohol or petroleum solvents.

Action

The natural pyrethrins, which have no anticholinesterase activity, act in insects by slowly closing the sodium channel activation gate causing hyperexcitation followed by convulsion and death. They are synergised by Piperonyl butoxide, which has a minor repellant action in its own right. N-Octyl bicycloheptene dicarboximide (MGK 264) is an insecticide synergist and it has repellant properties.

Indications

Fleas (Ctenocephalides spp) and lice (Trichodectes canis and Heterodoxus spp), ticks including the paralysis tick (Rhipicephalus sanguineus and Ixodes holocyclus) and prevents attachment for up to 3 days on dogs and cats. Controls lice on ornamental cage birds.

For use in hydrobaths.

Because of the almost complete absence of organic solvents this product will not damage the pump mechanism of hydrobaths; the vapour is considerably less toxic to the operator than conventional organophosphates.

WARNINGS

In paralysis tick areas, inspect dogs and cats daily.
